Masia Cabellut, Penedés
Hannah & Michael
6 August 2025

The kind of love that moves 100 people from Australia to Spain just to celebrate two people. Hannah and Michael brought nearly everyone they love to the Penedès wine region, in the Catalan countryside. Nothing about the day felt staged. It was relaxed, full of laughter, and had that rare ease you cannot really plan for. Their chosen venue, Masia Cabellut, was the perfect setting for a destination wedding, with everything happening in one place.
The ceremony took place in the gardens, surrounded by thyme, lavender and rosemary, with paper parasols sheltering guests from the afternoon sun. Later came champagne by the pool, followed by dinner at one long table beneath the olive trees, chandeliers hanging above and everyone sitting together.
When the sun started to drop, we slipped away to the vineyard for ten minutes. Just the two of them, the vines and that light. Those photographs are still some of my favourites from the year.

Weddings at Masía Cabellut
Masía Cabellut is one of the wedding venues I recommend most for couples that have a wedding weekend in mind. A beautifully restored 12th-century Catalan estate and private vineyard in the Tarragona countryside, it has the feeling of a place that is completely your own for the day.
Everything can happen here: getting ready, the ceremony, aperitivo, dinner and dance, without ever having to leave. Additionally it provides the perfect scenario for a pre or post wedding celebration by the pool. The estate can host weddings of up to 200 guests, while 7 en-suite bedrooms provide accommodation for 14–16 guests, making it especially lovely for bringing your closest people together for a few days.
I know Masía Cabellut very well, and I love photographing weddings here. Knowing the different spaces, the light and how the day naturally flows through the property means I can help you make the most of the venue while keeping everything relaxed.
If Masía Cabellut is your venue, or you’re considering a masia in Catalonia, tell me your story and your date.
Good to know
Can the whole wedding day happen at Masía Cabellut?
Yes. Getting ready, ceremony, aperitivo and dinner all happen on the estate – no convoys, no lost hours, the day keeps its rhythm.
What is the light like for photographs?
Early evening in the courtyard, and the vineyard rows just before sunset. We plan portraits around both.
Do you photograph other masias?
Yes – masias and country estates across Catalonia, and weddings throughout Barcelona and the coast.
